And they're off!
They left ahead of schedule, too. 6:45 a.m., practically before our eyes were open, but the car was packed and the kids were ready and the only person who wasn't out of bed was Mary, but they all trooped up to her room and said their good-byes.
Then they piled in the car and drove away, waving and smiling, heading for South and West and Home.

Gee, sounds like fun! Glad you got to take a day off-- sounds like you've more than earned it.
Hard to take a day off. I was still somewhat frazzled by all the work that wasn't being done -- awful hard to relax on Wednesday when you know things are piling up for Thursday! And having the "fun" at I-Hop didn't help. But we had a wonderful time at the Gardens, walking around and seeing the exhibits, the butterflies, the farm, the sculptures, watching the kids rolling down the hill. And it was nice to go home and have birthday cupcakes and ice cream.
