Farewell Party for James

James had his first Farewell Party today.

This is the party held for all his high school friends who happen to be in town for the Holidays and will soon be going back to their colleges. They won't be around when it comes time for him to fly out to German (Feb 26) so he decided to throw himself a Farewell Party so they could come.

We've spent the last couple of days trying to get the house ready for the deluge of friends. I've been concentrating on the basement, figuring out how to move all the junk out of the way so we can set up the ping-pong table. Over the past few months, we've stuffed so many things down there just to get them out of the way. There's simply no room.

And the walls aren't quite ready for prime-time.

The wall between the rec room and the 2nd bedroom is built but the insulation in the walls has no facing, so I have to get that put up, too. And the ledge wall doesn't have the board cut to fit yet, so that's gotta be done.

Cheryl and James are taking care of the cleaning and cooking upstairs. Lots of food! I hope there'll be plenty for all of us.  I'm getting hungry!

The party lasted til eight. I didn't think it was going to go on that long, but James's friends were having a lot of fun and we enjoyed having them stick around.

It was nice to see how many of them came by.
